Amnesty International – Taksim Tour of Freedom

Taksim Square is known as the go-to spot for protests in Istanbul, and indeed throughout Turkey. It’s where people amplify their voices on any issue whenever they wish. However, the Turkish government eventually banned Taksim as a protest venue, offering citizens a controlled alternative location for gatherings. Yet, the right to protest wherever one desires is a fundamental human right. In order to underscore this, we’ve devised a mock online tour of Taksim, complete with posters strategically placed in the most touristy areas.
